Many people dream about making money while they are sleeping. In fact, this dream can turn into a reality with a successful online store or ecommerce business. Here are some tips on how to start earning money from the very beginning of your work as an e-commerce entrepreneur:

Developing a great online store or shopping app is not the only thing you must do in order to start a new successful e-commerce business. You will need to promote your store, so that you get those first orders mailed in as soon as possible. Thankfully, today there are easy ways to reach  wide audience quickly and in many cases for free via the popular social networks,  messenger services, popular blogs, etc. Of course, you may want to invest some money for advertising and marketing campaigns at first, so that you begin generating sales and attracting more customers.  A good tactic is to target customers who visit your online store but do not make a purchase, so that they decide to come back and make an online purchase.  This may mean that you probably won’t be actually making a profit from the sales in the first few months, but you will be gradually attracting more customers and hopefully have increasing sales volumes plus credibility for your store.

Register your store in Google Merchant Center, and use platforms such as WooCommerce and Shopify to make sure that your products appear with a picture and price as soon as a potential customer performs an online search for this particular product.

On average, 97 out of every 100 visitors will leave without making a purchase. The visitors who come following a Google Shopping campaign may be comparing prices and looking for the best deal, so by reminding them to return to your store is essential if you want to actually sell them one or more products. You can use AdWords to create a creative and appealing ad to remind your potential customers to come back and buy your products. Furthermore, you should use dynamic retargeting to show potential customers the exact product they were searching for along with the current price and a special discount for it. This will make them more likely to return and buy it. You can use Facebook, Google and Bing for this dynamic retargeting.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Put sufficient effort in good SEO to increase the authority of your domain with credible links and ensuring your online store gets a leading position in Google and other search engine searches.

Use pop-ups

Offer coupon codes to your customers, or offer a discount for those who register for your e-mail newsletter. Do this with a great and non-annoying pop up created with OptinMonster or another suitable tool for designing pop-ups for your online business. Make the pop up with the special offer appear at a moment after a customer spends 60 or more seconds on your website or after a customer has seen 3 or more products on your website.
