In older versions of ToolbarStudio only .bmp images were supported. With a new 4.0 edition of ToolbarStudio animated images can also be used.

You can set a custom or IE skin (background) for your toolbar or choose any graphic for your toolbar's skin
When the actual length of the toolbar exceeds the browser width , chevron will be displayed to indicate that there's more to show. So users can intuitively see that there are more items that are hidden. To see chevrons at work, fire up IE and resize the window so the width of IE toolbar is shrunk to the point it clips some of its items. Now you should see the the chevron(>>), to indicate that some items are not completely visible.
You can assign URL redirection to any site, script, etc. from a button/ menu item of the toolbar.
Several configuration files can be used for the toolbar; this allows you to create several different appearances for your users or have several versions of the toolbar in different languages
By making this feature a part of the toolbar your users will be able to adjust the size of the
pages they are browsing using the buttons on the toolbar.
You can switch on/off display of images/Flash by using these commands assigned to a button/menu item.
You can add animated icons to buttons to catch and retain the user's attention
